"Undefined Network" and changing network security
Have a computer with Win7 PRO, and are trying to get COMM communication by LAN-to-LAN port (crossover cable) to an device (videoprocessor). The LAN interfaces are set with IP adresses and the use of cross-over cable, as described by the vendor of the videoprocessor. BUT in Win7 I get an "undefined network" on the status of the LAN-interface and therefor I do not get any communication. Looks like the interface is closing/restricted any communication between the computers LAN interface and the videoprocessors LAN interface by using an cross-over cable. This works fine with Win XP (two simular set-up with computers and videoprocessors) where it looks like no restriction when an undefined network is connected. Need assistance on how to work around this issue when an undefined network is defined in Win7 PRO........
